PRAYER FOCUS

Ephesians 5:2

“Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

Praise God for Jesus’ sacrificial love for us.

Pray that we would believe and rejoice on that love, and love Him in return.

FROM THE PULPIT

Rev Nigel Fuller

Good morning to you, and welcome to Upper Umgeni today.

It’s hard to believe that we are just 2 weeks away from Christmas – the years really do seem shorter as we grow older!

This morning we will be ’going back to basics’ as we look at one of the real gems of the Bible. There are more than 31 000 verses in Scripture, but John 3:16 is without doubt the most well known.    In a world which is so confused about the Truth, it is often a good thing for us to come back to the fundamental truths of the Gospel of Jesus, and there are few better verses to go to than John 3:16.

Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, so there will be only one service on     Christmas morning at 8am.

Please also remember that the evening service is in recess until the schools     re-open in January.

We are still looking for volunteers to sing Christmas Carols at the frail care centres on Christmas Eve. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring cheer to the elderly, and it is always an enriching hour or so. Please let Robyn know if you are       available.
